It centers on the urgent need to halt the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project—a major infrastructure undertaking with potentially devastating environmental and social impacts.

Why it matters
The EACOP project, if not managed responsibly, could exacerbate climate change, harm local communities, and endanger critical ecosystems. Campaign Objectives:
Environmental Assessment: Advocate for a thorough and independent environmental impact assessment of the EACOP to identify and mitigate potential harm to ecosystems, water sources, and biodiversity.
Community Engagement: Ensure that local communities affected by the EACOP are informed, consulted, and fairly compensated for any disruptions to their livelihoods.
Climate Mitigation: Promote the adoption of best practices and technologies to minimize greenhouse gas emissions associated with the extraction and transportation of crude oil through the pipeline.
Transparency and Accountability: Demand transparency from project stakeholders and hold them accountable for any violations of environmental regulations or human rights.
